Why do I need Mighty-Tite?
Only a tight seat belt can prevent the dangerous up-and-down, side-to-side and rotational child safety seat movement that happens during everyday travel and especially in accidents. In addition to eliminating the classic seat belt struggle that all parents face when installing car seats, Mighty-Tite also offers peace of mind that the car seat is secure. Nothing tightens a seat belt better than Mighty-Tite, which is why every car seat should have a Mighty-Tite.
Can Mighty-Tite be used in any vehicle?
Mighty-Tite is designed to work in any vehicle (car, truck or van) approved for child safety seat installations. Mighty-Tite requires no permanent installation.
Will Mighty-Tite work with all child safety seats?
Yes. Mighty-Tite attaches to the seat belt of the car, not to the car seat so it works with all three types of child safety seats: infant carriers, car seats and booster seats.
Do I need a locking clip?
Follow the directions of the car seat manufacturer. If they recommend a locking clip, use it. The clip does not alter the effectiveness of Mighty Tite.

How do I release Mighty-Tite?
- Disengage the seat belt buckle first
, so there is no tension on the seat belt itself.
- Follow the Step-by-Step directions for releasing Mighty-Tite.
- If you are still having trouble activating the release: lift the handle up halfway, then slide the yellow pre-release button back (and holding it back), push down on the yellow handle. While continuing to hold the button back and the handle down, unwind the metal spindle. Pushing down too hard on the yellow handle will make it more difficult to unwind the metal spindle.
Can a child accidentally release Mighty-Tite, while it's in use?
It would be extremely difficult and highly unlikely for a child to be able to release Mighty-Tite because it has been designed with a two-step, child-resistant release mechanism that require both steps to be performed in proper order. In addition, the design is such that as seat belt tension increases so does the difficulty in initiating the release mechanism. Before Mighty-Tite can be released, disengaging the seat belt buckle must first relieve seat belt tension because otherwise it would be extremely difficult for even a strong adult to release Mighty-Tite.
How safe is Mighty-Tite?
Mighty-Tite is intended to be used with child safety seats or an infant carrier. It should never be used on a seat belt if the belt is the only form of restraint.
